Bo’ness-based Wullie Ruffle has recalled a memorable meeting with Hollywood ‘A’ lister Brooke Shields.

Shields met Ruffle – who has worked on South Queensferry’s Dalmeny Estate for 37 years, 30 years as golf club secretary – last year during filming of Netflix show ‘A Castle for Christmas’.

Ruffle told us: “During filming I got Brooke and Cary (fellow star Cary Elwes) with the director Mary Lambert and producers Brad Krevoy, Steve McGlothen and AJ Riach to sign our golf flag.

"As a thank you I presented both with limited edition 'Eisenhowe pens' crafted from our Eisenhower tree and case. They both were very excited and honoured to receive them with Brooke saying that she would write her memoirs with said pen!”
