BB Notes: Falkirk and District Stedfast Association
Members heard from Alex Glen who spoke about Scotland’s charity air ambulance service. Based near Perth, the service is one of only two such charity supported ambulances in Scotland which work alongside emergency services in transferring patients when speed is of the essence. He was presented with a cheque for £100.
Fraser Binnie stood down as president in favour of Joe Sharp, who many will remember was previously in charge at the 1st Bothkennar & Carronshore Company, ably supported by his wife, Betty. The secretary, Wilma Johnston, also decided to call it a day after 19 years. Helen Binnie, wife of the outgoing president was welcomed to this post.

Generally events are social occasions but, if appropriate, help can be offered to the battalion. In this latter context the Association donated £200 to Falkirk & District Battalion.
Avril Davidson agreed to join the committee which is looking for ideas for next session. Potential members wishing to join this group, who often were former BB rivals but now firm friends, should enquire on (01324) 483695.
