His series of crimes came to a halt after Edgar shoplifted alcohol from Asda, Newmarket Centre, Falkirk, on November 1.
Defence solicitor Martin Morrow told Sheriff Derek Livingston: “He was very frank with social workers.
“He thought at 60 he had to sort himself out and had to do that himself. His house was destroyed by his drinking.

“The value is just over £100. He’s been in custody since January 11 and got a four-month sentence for a different matter.”
The court heard Edgar spent time in custody between November 26 and mid-January.
Sheriff Livingston responded: “He was placed on a structured deferred sentence and didn’t engage in the slightest.”
