The birth of Mollie Violet Ann McEwen
THE DETAILS: Mollie Violet Ann McEwen was born in Stirling Royal Infirmary on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 12.35 p.m., weighing 7lb 15oz.

THE PARENTS: Tiela Grant (22) is formerly of Brightons and is a childcare worker. David McEwen is 23 and formerly of Milton of Campsie. He is a mobile valeter. The family live in Denny.

THE PREGNANCY: Tiela said she was sick from the start of the pregnancy till the birth.

THE BIRTH: The birth was also hard going for Tiela with a lengthy 72-hour labour.

THE BABY: However, the happy mum said Mollie is a "fabulous baby" who sleeps through the night and feeds well.

THE NAME: Mollie is named after a famous Irish lady.

THE GRANDPARENTS: The grannies and grandpas are Violet and Neil Grant of Brightons; and Ann and Henry McEwen, Milton of Campsie.

THANKS: The family extend their thanks to the maternity unit staff at Stirling Royal Infirmary, especially the Tulip Team, and family and friends for their lovely presents and good wishes.
