The birth of Lucie Allan
THE DETAILS: Lucie Summer Allan was born in Stirling Royal Infirmary on Saturday, August 30, 2008, at 4.29 a.m. She weighed in at 9lb 13oz.

THE PARENTS: Michelle Allan (nee Jack) is 32 and originally from Denny. She is a customers service associate with Prudential in Stirling. Stephen Allan (32), also of Denny, is a senior support worker with Cargawn, Bonnybridge. The couple live at 42 Hayfield Terrace, Head of Muir.

THE PREGNANCY: Michelle's only real problem was having pelvic pains for the last three months.

THE BIRTH: The labour was fairly lengthy at 31 hours but the birth was straightforward.

THE BABY: Michelle said that Lucie is a fantastically contented infant who sleeps and eats well.

THE NAME: Lucie and Summer were two names the couple liked.

THE GRANDPARENTS: The grannies and grandpas are Shona and Gordon Jack of Denny; and Jacqui and Tom Allan also of Denny.

THANKS: Sincere thanks are extended to the tulip team at Stirling Royal Infirmary's maternity unit.
